Courses
Can I get a refund on a live course?
Yes — full refund up to 7 days before the class date. Within 7 days, we offer a credit toward a future cohort or a different 1116 product. After the class begins, no refunds, but we'll work with you if there's a serious issue.
Guides
Can I get a refund on a guide?
Yes — full refund within 14 days of purchase if you haven't completed more than the first module. After that, the content is in your hands and we don't roll back access.
Stacks
Can I get a refund on a stack?
Stacks are one-time licenses to documentation + configuration we use in production. Because the content is delivered immediately on purchase, refunds are case-by-case — email jake@1116.info if there's a fit issue and we'll figure it out.
Courses
What does "live class" actually mean?
Real-time, interactive sessions with Jake — not pre-recorded video. Remote = 4 hours over Zoom; In-person = 8 hours at our location with a project we ship together; Custom = tailored engagement (multi-day, on-site at your office, team training).
Guides
What does "self-paced" mean?
Markdown-based modules you read at your own pace inside app.1116.info. Each guide has 6-7 modules plus state-specific breakdowns. The In-person tier includes a 90-minute live walk-through with Jake to apply the playbook to your specific situation.
Stacks
What's in a stack purchase?
Annotated configuration of the tools 1116 actually runs in production — env vars, deploy steps, gotchas, scaling guidance, cost data. Each stack ships with its installation playbook plus the reasons we picked each tool over alternatives.

Will I get updates after I buy?
Yes. Course modules and guide playbooks are evergreen — when we update content (e.g., a state changes its filing requirements), enrolled customers get the update for free. Stacks similarly get configuration refreshes when the underlying tools change.
AI course
Do I need prior AI / coding experience?
No. The course is named "Walk in skeptical. Walk out shipping." for a reason — it's designed for people who've never used Claude/Cursor/Render before. We provide a setup checklist a week before; basic comfort with a Mac/PC and a text editor is enough.
Guides
Do guides require legal background?
No. The guides are written for founders and operators, not lawyers. Where state-specific legal nuance matters (e.g., 501c3 Form 1023 narrative) we tell you when to engage a nonprofit attorney — but the playbook itself is procedural.
Stacks
Do stacks require dev skills?
Yes — stacks are aimed at engineers and technical founders. If you can ship a Render service from a GitHub repo and read environment variables, you'll be fine. The playbooks fill in the gaps but aren't beginner-aimed.
